falling snow interrupts
by Laura Schechter
a chill in the air
my face is too cold
i am with the wrong man
preserve this moment for later accuracy
remember i kissed your chin and put my hand to your jaw
remember how my hair unbraided when i walked away

Laura Schechter is a Ph.D. student at the University of Alberta.
Although her research is generally in Renaissance literature, she
maintains an active interest in twentieth-century women's poetry
and is happy to be an occasional creative writer herself. Her work
often searches out the domestic, the quiet, and the personal.
