Congratulations to J. Malcolm Garcia.  His essay “Stabbing Johnny,”
which was first published in the
Apple Valley Review’s Fall 2014 issue,
was selected as a notable essay in
The Best American Essays 2015.  
The 2015 collection was edited by
New Yorker magazine staff writer
and award-winning essayist Ariel Levy and series editor Robert Atwan.

Donna Vorreyer’s new collection of poetry, Every Love Story Is
an Apocalypse Story, is now available from Sundress Publications.  
Two of Vorreyer’s poems, “Bringing in the Sheaves” and “Mailing
a Snowflake,” first appeared in the Fall 2012 issue of the
Valley Review

Millions of Ravenous Creatures, a collection of poetry by Rodger
, was released earlier this year by Big Table Publishing
Company.  The book includes LeGrand’s poem “
Waking Up on a
Sinking Boat,” which originally appeared in the Fall 2007 issue of the
Apple Valley Review.  “Waking Up on a Sinking Boat” was also the
title poem of LeGrand’s 2008 chapbook from Pudding House Press.    

Scott D. Pomfret’s first full-length short story collection, You Are
the One
, will be published this month by NineStar Press, Ltd.  The
collection includes his story “
The Casualty Assistant,” which was
published in the Spring 2013 issue of the
Apple Valley Review.

Apple Valley Review is an online literary journal.  It is published
twice annually, once in spring and once in fall.  Each issue features a
collection of poetry, short fiction, and essays.  More extensive
