News from the Editor:

Congratulations to Rosa Salazar, the recipient of the Apple Valley
Review
Editor’s Prize for 2007.  Three of her poems—“Chaplet of
Mercy,” “Another Side to Despair,” and “Tío Leandro, Where
Were You When Ramón Died on the Farm Last Week?”—were
published in our
Spring 2007 issue.  All work published in the
Apple Valley Review during a given calendar year is considered
for this annual award.  Salazar will receive $100 and a gift of a book
of poetry or fiction.    

The
Apple Valley Review is an online literary journal.  It is published
twice annually, once in spring and once in fall.  Each issue features a
collection of poetry, short fiction, and essays.  

If you would like to be added to our
mailing list, please send your
full name, mailing address, and e-mail address to our
editor with the
word “subscribe” as the subject of your e-mail message.  As a
subscriber, you will receive information about new issues of the
journal as they become available online.  Your contact information
